FINALIST in the RAC Historic Awards Personality category for CEO Daniel Geoghegan.

As the Home of Historic Motoring, we were delighted when it was announced that all of the nominees in The Personality Category for the 2020 Royal Automobile Club Historic Award’s are based at Bicester Heritage.

This prestigious award seeks to recognise any individual who has made a truly outstanding contribution to heritage, historic motoring or historic motorsport during the judging period. The winner can come from any part of the British historic motoring world – private enthusiast, club organiser or perhaps a specialist who has achieved something remarkable.

Bicester Motion CEO Daniel Geoghegan is nominated for his ongoing commitment to the promotion of the Heritage movement. Bicester Heritage is creating a revolution in historic vehicle ownership as the UK’s only hub for historic motoring excellence and is the national centre for the £5.5bn historic motoring industry.
Janice Pitchforth continues to develop the success of the apprenticeship scheme at the Heritage Skills Academy,
and has been singularly instrumental in promoting and developing apprenticeships throughout the Heritage industry.
And finally Adam Gompertz, the Bicester Heritage Station Chaplain who has lead three virtual events to great acclaim. He has partnered with Mind, Mission Motorsport and StarterMotor to raise awareness of the impact of COVID-19 on mental health, particularly within the motoring community. His Facebook page REVS-Limiter, also nominated for Spectacle of the year, has offered support and created a connected community throughout 2020.
The awards were initially scheduled to take place on the 26th November but rather than hosting the event digitally the organisers decided to postpone the event and reschedule to the 28th January 2021, in the hope that nominees and sponsors will once again be able to enjoy the event in person within Covid compliant surroundings.
We wish all of the nominees the best of luck.
