“The uniquely cheerful, sociably and unthreatening atmosphere of Bicester Heritage is ideal for offsetting some of life’s other difficulties.”
Steve Cropley, AutocarThe third and final sold-out Scramble of 2024 takes place on Sunday 6 October. Hundreds of cars will line the picturesque avenues of the UK’s best-preserved Second World War bomber base, now home to more than 50 automotive experts.
Take a look at the sights and sounds of Scrambles gone by.
Curated displays will be led by a celebration of the hatch, from hero hatchbacks from the 1980s to very earliest of the type, along with rarities and obscurities. The industry leading specialists that call Bicester Heritage home will showcase their talents, and the eclectic Scramblers membership will pack every blade of grass and piece of Tarmac.
Wander the tree-lined avenues, with history at every turn. The Heritage Trail reveals the stories hidden between the red-brick walls, and specialists open their doors to give you a glimpse inside. Many of the buildings are listed and have been meticulously preserved, along with some of thefascinating features within.
Every age is accounted for at a Scramble, whether it’s the very earliest future car enthusiast or the young at heart. The Little Top is a popular fixture with free activities and crafts, The Joystick Club offers the chance to pedal little planes and build little flyers, and Mini Lander Driving Experience gives a taste of the best 4x4 by far.
Away from the car displays and kids’ activities, there’s a full day’s fun to be had. Take to the skies with helicopter pleasure flights, help the Home Guard turn back the clock with its hands-on displays and exhibitions while the Innovation@Scramble zone showcases the future of motion. More than 50 specialists who are preserving the future of old cars will welcome you into their special workshops, too.
